feeling: absolutely gross
listening to: nothing
Ugh. Today marks day one of my first cold of the year. I felt it coming a couple days ago. It happens pretty much every time there's a major weather change, which was definitely the case this week. Started with a tiny lump in my throat, the pain of which increased gradually up through yesterday, and remains in place now, though less pain and more... just... ick. Acidic. Anywho, I've been deteriorating throughout the day - woke up late but was still tired, went back to sleep, ate lunch, did a little homework, fell asleep again, woke up feeling weaker, did stuff, got progressively weaker. Like, skin crawling, mild hot/cold flashes (but then, the weather + the heating in this house = ??), mushy muscles, and generally just feeling as though all my innards might seep through the pores of my skin at any time. But instead of staying in bed, I had to shower and stuff cause my brother and his family, including his stepson Steen, came over. Not that this is a bad thing, but... ^^ Yeah, it was pretty fun. I kept Steen entertained for hours with my Playstation, and my nephy was just adorable as always, though I didn't get to hold him cause I'm ill. ;_; Oh, this is the cutest thing: at less than 3 months old, he can say something remarkably similar in sound to "I'm good!" XD I think his mom has him trained. *lol* Cause all she has to do is tell him to "Say 'I'm good!'" and he immediately grins and makes this "Ahmbuuuu!" noise that sounds almost exactly like "I'm good." And he did it several times while he was here, and Heather told us about her dad's reaction to it in a previous place and time, so it wasn't just a one-shot thing. It's true too... he's an incredibly good baby. ^^ Ahh, it is sooo cute~~ *giggle*cough*
Eck, I feel horrible. But fortunately, this should be the only day of actual bodily weakness. Starting tomorrow and lasting for a few days, it'll be just a severely evil sinus act-up, and probably a lingering sore throat. Yeah, I know the routine. Happens quite frequently. But, know what's a great thing to have when you feel horrid? A friendly cat. ^^ My Ginger has been following me around pretty much all day, except when she was out while company was here (Heather and Steen are allergic)... she jumped on the bed this morning to wake me up and then curled up against me and joined me in slumberland, she jumped on my lap at any chance she got (twice in the afternoon, which was a lot considering I was in bed for most of it), followed me to the bathroom a couple times, generally just hung around me all day. And now she's lying on some of my parents' papers on the computer desk, dozing and purring and just happy to be near me. I love my booger. *schnuzzles her*
Bluh. I think it's time to gulp some Benadryl and haul my jelly-ish self to bed.
