listening to: Utena Musical - Oujisama ga Ii
Well, it appears I'll be living in a single next year. Woot. *waves a pennant or something* Singles are really hard to get on this campus, especially if you want a particular dorm or, even more so, floor. It's based on priority points which are based on, basically, seniority - how long you've lived in the dorm you want, on the floor you want, in the room you want, etc. Since I'll be a junior next year, I have a lot of priority points, so I'd have thought I'd get one of the two singles I asked for, but I didn't... oh well... maybe there were some seniors in line before me. *shrug* Ok, I requested either Siebert 702 or Siebert 902, both singles, with my alternates being 703 and 903, which are doubles but the -03 rooms are the biggest doubles on each floor. Anyway, I got Siebert 320. I guess I didn't realize there were two singles on each floor, one on each end... darn... but oh well. I'm not crazy about the third floor part, but at least it's a single in Siebert. No one to annoy with my TV, computer, decor, music, bedtimes, anime, nothing. ^^
My English class is the devil. It's extremely fun and appealing on the outside, but what lies beneath is absolute and utter evil. There, I said it. I mean, class meetings are actually *gasp* fun, especially when we do peer group activities, cause my peer group rocks. Mostly because of Corey, as I mentioned before. He is a dork. XD Splicin' it up... God... Anywaaaaay, yeah, and the teacher is very cool too. Others might disagree and say she's a slavedriver or some such weirdness, but I don't... um... think so. She assigns a lot of work, but she's a HECK of a lot cooler than any other English teacher I've ever had. Anyway, she's cool, my peer group is cool, the theme/material (monstrosity) is cool, and class meetings are cool, although long. But beyond that fun surface lies sooo much work, it's ridiculous. -_- Insane amounts of reading and writing, presentations to prepare, articles to find, read, and analyze, out-of-class meetings to organize to discuss... stuff... aaarrrrrgg. Just the stuff I have to do THIS WEEK is insane. Three 10-page papers to read and review, my own to revise, another 4-page one to write, probably more reading I don't even know of yet, and 3 meetings to figure out and go to - one with the teacher about my paper, one with my peer group about said reviews on said papers, and one with the smaller group I have to prepare and give a presentation with in exactly a week. We've read the article we have to present on, but beyond that, we've done nothing to prepare for this thing. Better yet, this article makes VERY little sense. Fun times... *sigh*
