Found 4 possible names for my lioness girls. There's Siti (means lady), Makosa (mistake), Ngozi (blessing), and Mawusi (in the hands of God). I'm having trouble deciding which 2 are most suitable for them, mostly because I haven't really created detailed histories for them yet. I mean, I wouldn't just name a character "mistake" out of the blue. :P I also don't know that a name like "in the hands of God" is appropriate for either of them, since they both might... errr, stuff. o_O So I guess I'll be giving them a story before I give them names... blah. Oh well.
Ok, I totally wish I had seen that Diane Sawyer special with Rosie O'Donnell the other day. Seems like I'm one of the few who missed it. I seriously had NO idea Rosie was gay. Strange that almost everyone else I know who saw the special knew all along... maybe because I haven't watched her show in a while, or because I pay no attention to tabloids? Or because I have no life...? Anywho... yeah, I had no idea. Wow. That was a surprise. I really, really wish I'd seen that special, because I've heard it was majorly inspirational and sweet and stuff. It was all about gay parenting, particularly gay adoption, and how some states are trying to make it illegal. Which would mean children that have lived with gay foster parents for years will be yanked out of their homes. And Rosie apparently decided that it was the perfect opportunity to publicly "come out", cause it gave her a cause that her sexuality can actually help her fight for. Go Rosie. What an awesome human being. I used to watch her show with my mom all the time... she always seemed like such an awesome person to me. Always donating to (and starting) charities, always giving, always trying to help others, raising 3 kids that no one else evidently wanted... and she's confident that, even though she's gay, she's a great mother. And now she's using that to fight for these children who just want a home. I mean, these kids probably came from straight households, and that didn't work out, right? What is the big problem with being raised in a gay household? See, if I'd been abandoned at age 3 or 4 and had a choice between spending my youth in a loveless adoption center or living with a caring, charitable gay parent like Rosie O'Donnell, I wouldn't have hesitated to go with the caring parent. Who says that extra adjective makes you unworthy of providing for a child? The way I see it, the people trying to stop gay adoptions are nothing but stiff, judgmental prudes who care about what they think should be right than about the well-being of a child. Hear that, Bushy Boy? Adoption is for the children. Think about what theywant. What they need.
Look, this is turning into a discussion of my stance on moral issues. :P Murf, one thing I know. I'm gonna try really hard to start watching the Rosie O'Donnell Show again.
Sigh... geez, I'm bored... I can't wait to get back home to a bedroom I don't have to share with anyone... >_>
