feeling: stuffy
listening to: Bill Cosby: Himself - The Grandparents
I was right about my cold. Today it's been nothing more than evil stuffed-up-ness and, this morning, a sore throat. Even it seems to be gone. See, I know the routine.
Bill Cosby: Himself is hilarious. XD Ok, I grew up with the cassette (soundtrack, if you will) of this thing. I mean, pretty much from babyhood I was listening to this thing, courtesy of Big Brudder. In one part of it he's talking about how mothers always say "I'm sick and tired!", always with the "and tired" following "sick." So that leads to this, from his childhood: "Worst beating I ever got in my life: my mother said 'I am just sick!' I said, 'And tired!' I don't remember anything that happened that day." Now, this is the funny part: I actually DID that once. >:) I was like, 7 or 8, my mom was muttering around cheesed off (most likely at me), said something to the effect of "...makes me sick" and I followed up with "And tired!" Mom gave me SUCH a death glare, and my big brother stood there to the side laughing his fool head off. It was a great moment. X3
Speaking of memories, I went to the Convo today for the first time in about 3 years. The Convo is the basketball (and other sports, probably) gym-dome-arena-type-place, also known as the Convocation(al?) Center, where the Ohio University Bobcats play. No, that's not my college. Mine's Ohio STATE. Anywaaay... the high school I went to has played its basketball tourny games there for the past several years (when the team made it that far). First time I went there was in... oh, 10th grade maybe... and it was just the freakin' coolest thing. I mean, the biggest gym I'd ever been in to that date (and to my memory) was my high school's, which seated just over 2000. Whilst the Convo... psh, heck if I even know how many thousands it seats. But it's a college arena. And back then it was the absolute coolest place. I got to go there 4 or 5 times before I graduated. Then, I came here, and went to a few OSU basketball games - REAL college games, in an arena that's even bigger than the Convo, and I was sitting way closer to the floor too. But then today, I got to go back to the Convo, and it was coolness all over again. I really don't know why. I mean, I've been to real college games now, in a bigger arena and everything, yet the ol' Convo still impresses me? I don't understand. Maybe people're right when they talk about first impressions lasting. Like, when I first saw the Convo it was the coolest thing, and that impression of it stayed in my brain and automatically manifested again today, when I returned there? Eh... *shrug*
Yes, I know that had nothing to do with anything. I'm bored and I don't wanna do homework. Nor do I wanna go to bed. Actually I kinda do. :P But whatever... can't get to sleep till the roomie's done with whatever she's doing so... hmm. Meh, I have nothing else to say anyway.
