feeling: I'm smiling! I haven't smiled like this in weeks! ^o^
listening to: Lilo & Stitch - He Mele No Lilo

Oh, Lord. I havent felt this spiffy in ages. *^^* Strange really...

Ok... remember my last few blogs about this weekend's OhayoCon adventure and how worked up I've been? Well, it's all arranged. *dance* Well, tomorrow anyway... and I think Saturday... and we'll figure Sunday out in good time. Today and yesterday I spent hours at various websites - Columbus maps/directories/yellow pages, COTA bus schedules, taxi sites, OhayoCon and Hilton pages, not to mention emailing COTA twice for directions. They finally sent me an itinerary for Friday only... but after much researching, I found that 1) I don't feel like waiting around outdoors at various bus stops for 25+ minutes after dark when it's 8 degrees outside, and 2) we can't get a ride back here unless we want to walk 6 miles to the nearest #16 bus stop. Also that the taxis I looked up don't run late in the evening. So I feel back to my last resort: asking my dad to take us there, run around in Columbus till midnight or so, then bring us back to the dorm. But my dad instead voluntarily made multiple phonecalls for me until he found that we can get a cab from the con to my dorm, ANY time of day, for the same rate as any other cab (which is high, but hey, it's a ride). He then proceeded to make sure that I would call him if we got stranded or missed a bus or anything, and promised to come bail us out if we need it, whenever we need it. My dad rules. ^^ So tomorrow, Dumplin's gonna get here, and if she hasn't eaten yet we'll inhale sandwiches or something quick courtesy of my meal plan, then her dad will take us to the con (another lifesaver ^.^ *hugs her dad*), and we can stay as late as we want - including to the party of DubThis!'s Luke, if we so choose, and we may finally get to taste the sorta-infamous Lemon Fanfic XDD *die* Well, anyway... Friday's settled, and Saturday should be too. Once that stress was gone, I can't express how psyched I became about this convention. \^u^/

Oh, but that's not all... other things have worked against me this week too. Like lack of sleep, lack of time to study in appropriate amounts, and catching a cold 3 days before con weekend in mid-January. Also, today in biology we had to pick out the cats we'll be dissecting. I didn't realize they'd still have their fur and everything... T_T My and my lab partner got a pretty one... I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing :P;;; Anyway... like, it seemed most of the cats were the tux-style black and white, but of course none of that mainstream for us. x) But there was also a pure white one, a tortoiseshell, I think some blacks, someone claimed a Siamese... our TA said there'd been a Persian in one of her labs a while back... and we claimed (or 'adopted', in our TA's words) a pretty brown and black tabby/mottled female with white underside, paws, points, etc. Doesn't sounds too spectacular, but she's much nicer than all those tux-coats. :P We start taking her apart next Thursday... *sniffle*

But yeah. Hmm. More happy things... my betta boys are doing beautifully, although I'm having a heck of a time lowering their pH. At home it was at least 7.6 for them, but my dorm water's only 7.2 or so, and if I just throw them into 7.2 pH water straight from home water, it'll shock them. I've been doing 20-25% water changes a day in attempts to gradually lower it, but it's not changing at all. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep up the changing schedule tomorrow and Saturday, what with the con... *mutter* But anyway, they're happy and fit and well, even without their bloodworms. Mom forgot to pack them or remind me to. :P

Final happy note: this song I've been listening to for the past few... well, days. He Mele no Lilo, from Lilo and Stitch. I ADORE this song. *sway* It makes me wanna learn hula, I swear it does. I adore Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride too, but it doesn't make me want to hula. It's not really a hula song.

Well, anyhow... just thought I'd mention that things have worked in my favor a little bit to make me feel a whole lot better about this weekend's con adventure. And now it's time to do my homework. Dozen or so kanji to memorize. Yay. The bad thing about that is I'm gonna have to turn off this song if I wanna be able to concentrate at all... T_T
