feeling: restless
listening to: nothing
Tomorrow I go back to the dorm. And I'm more pleased with this concept than I've ever been at the end of a long holiday break. Well, maybe not so much pleased as 'at ease'. Which is kinda weird to say, since this will very likely be the most ridiculously difficult and busiest quarter I've yet endured. But... you know, it's sad when you feel safer on a huge college campus that's known nationwide for its regular riots and rapes and murders than you do in your own home. *mutter*
Know what else? OhayoCon starts a week from yesterday. I'm psyched... we've been anticipating this for nearly a year... but dumb as it sounds, I'm nervous too. I have no idea how to get there, what to do upon arriving, what's going on and when... I know nothing, really. I sent an email to the COTA bus service helpdesk requesting the best bus route plan to get there from my dorm, but that was days ago, and I haven't heard a thing since. Oh, except I got an automated thing from my mail server 2 or 3 days later saying that the sending of that email, and only that email, would be delayed. Grr. If they don't get back to me in the next 5 days I'm screwed. Anyway, as if it's bad enough I dunno how to get there by bus... depending what time(s) we go, and whether it's Friday or the weekend, the routes will be different. Schedules will be thrown off in the evenings, and some routes we need might not even be available evenings and weekends. We could face big delays at the darkest, creepiest times of the day or, worst case scenario, become very lost. Maybe we should just go taxi... :P;;
Do I not sound pathetic for someone who's LIVED in this city for 2 1/2 years? 9_9
Eh, it'll all work out, I'm sure. By the way, the 'we' above refers to me and Dumplin', who'll be staying in my dorm with me for the weekend. That promises to be the saving grace of the busy weekend for me. ^^; Wonder how our schedule will end up looking... unless something changed, she was hoping we could go betta hunting together sometime between con activities. I've been waiting for her to get online *hint hint :P* so I could tell her I found two pet stores VERY close to my dorm, as in within walking distance, and at least one if them definitely has fish/aquarium supplies. They're not big names or anything, but hopefully at least one of them will have bettas. Can't hurt to look if we can find the time. Even better, maybe I can have my folks swing me by one or two of them tomorrow when they take me back to the dorm.
Dum dum... oh yeah, I finally named my new betta Sekiray. He's freaking awesome. :3
