feeling: tired but amused listening to: BLOOD - Tanmei (Short Life)
Been in one of those moods where I've wanted to post SOMEthing SOMEwhere but have no idea what or which journal to put it in. But I'm boycotting LJ at the moment because it's worthless since it was bought out, and random nonsensical whatever-type rantage doesn't really fit in any of the other 6, so here we are. Prepare for lots of random nothingness that gives new meaning to this blog's title.
So did I mention we had a power outage Friday? Yeah, about 7 hours' worth. Absolutely no clue why either, to this day. And what really ticked me off was that Dumplin' was supposed to come over and join me in a Fushigi Yuugi marathon that day but it's hard to watch anime without electricity... and by the time it came back, we'd already decided to go ahead and cancel. *growls at AEP* We needed that marathon, man.
Sunday was... special. After 2 weeks' break from the evils of waking up at the crack of dawn for church, I returned to the old routine and went to church on about 2 hours of sleep. And couldn't spend it hiding in a back room catnapping either, cause I was dragged into helping put on a puppet show for the nursery kids. Had no idea they were planning that... but since I was always kinda the best puppet operator in the church, they refuse to put on a puppet show without me, even if it's for tiny rugrats who couldn't care less how accurate the mouth movements or head level might be... so yeah... there went my naptime. >.> Oh well... got to talk with Jess again too, which is always nice and nostalgic. I do miss that little sprite.
And Sunday evening was... entertaining. Very. The big exclusive BLOOD interview on the PA radio show Bad Transitions aired. And while the interview was entertaining (though it lacked Kaede >_< *bites Kiwamu on the nose*), the DJs were what really made the show a riot. The main one, Roger, has serious potential to earn his own fangirl following. >.> <.< And one of the best parts of the night was when my Dumplin' called in and won a signed BLOOD photoset followed by me calling in and won a signed BLOOD T-shirt, and the reaction of the DJ when I told him my name and hometown. Something like "Wait, are you from the same household as the girl who won the photoset earlier? O.o" Then he was all amused and "ooooh cool :D" when I told him that was my cousin... lol *pets the Roger* And the other great part was when he tried to say Chillicothe on the air and couldn't do it for the life of him... "second photoset went out to Erin of... Shi... Ch... Schla... er, somewhere in Ohio..." XD *easily amused*
Though, because I'm special, I kinda felt bad for winning the shirt. I'd actually hoped to win one of the 5 (or 4? forget already >.o) signed photosets, so I could give them to someone who deserves them since I already have pretty much all of BLOOD's 3rd period photosets... already have their autographs a couple times too, so that didn't matter as much to me. But then I ended up getting the shirt, and while I'm already spoiled rotten with BLOOD goodies, including a few quite exclusive thingies... much as I'd like to gift it, a signed shirt seems a lot harder to part with than a signed photoset, for some reason. >.>;; So dunno... guess I'll wait and see which shirt it is and how they signed it, or something... probably be the red one with the butterfly... *can predict Kiwamu by now >>*
And it's really windy outside. The house keeps shaking. O.o C'mooooon final winter storm... Dumplin' needs a snow day... *ahem*
Anyway, yes. Sunday evening was entertaining. Told my parents about my and Dumplin's victories and they were quite amused as well. Mom actually laughed. :P
And reading Adion's blog tonight made me start to consider the possibility of going to ACEN in May. >.> <.< The Pillows will be playing there... oooo... and I hear it's a pretty good sized con and such. Would be either one or two weekends after the BLOOD Mexico tour Kiwamu wants me to go to. No, I don't seriously think I'll be going to that... but I'm not ruling out the possibility. Yeeeeett. >< Not until I hear more details about any lives they might be doing in the US this year, anyway. But yeeeeah, since ACEN is good sized and they're getting The Pillows, who are kinda non-visual J-rock, there might be a pretty decent J-music appreciative crowd there... which could mean opportunity to repeat BLOOD cosplays. >> << Only problem is it's in Illinois, 6 hours away... better than 8 hours to Katsucon I guess, and in a better season, but still kinda grueling...
La la, what else...
*mind blanks*
...I think that means I'm done ranting now. Slightly tired as well, so I suppose bed will be soon...
