feeling: HYPED listening to: Malice Mizer - N.p.s. N.g.s. [N-type]
I don't know HOW I managed to get to sleep this morning. I was up until like 6:30 a.m. RESEARCHING MY TRIP TO MEXICO.
*pings off walls*
Funny to think back to that day Kiwamu first asked me if I'd go to this thing... my reaction was some sort of online version of laughing in his face. Never imagined I'd actually go. But dude, there's no talking me out of it now. I'M GOING TO BLOOD'S 3-DAY MEXICAN TOUR. I think I was the last of his agents to make the decision, but oh well. :P
So I guess I need to make the reservations as soon as possible before everything is booked solid. Flight will be a bit under $400 for each of us (my Calla's going too :DDD *twirls*), few extra small fees and stuff to get through customs... and I guess we're still deciding on where to stay. The guy organizing the con said he'd email me with info, but he hasn't yet... *pokes him* But yeah. There's a very cheap hostel and a more expensive Holiday Inn within 15 minutes of where the con is. He told me the hostel would be $10 per night and the Holiday Inn $110 per night. But after doing some research on my own... heh, well... not exactly so. >>
First, I tried finding the con's connected hostel online, but I couldn't... but I did find info on many hostels in Mexico City, and they all had certain features in common. They're all basically small dormitories, commonly with space for maybe 10 to 100 guests. One room can have varying numbers of beds, often from 2 to 12, and usually bunkbeds. And that "per night" price isn't for just the room - the price system for all the hostels I found was per person per night. Again, I couldn't find the specific hostel the guy told me about, but I can't imagine why it would be any different. Which would still be awesome if we each only had to pay $40 total to stay there 4 nights, but yeah... it does double the figure I was originally told. Especially if we try to get a room with only 2 beds, which he said is either $30 or $35 a night - so that would total $60 or $70 a night for each of us. That or we get a 4-bed room for the $10 rate, as we originally planned... but since it's like a dorm, we might be booked to share it with two strangers. >.o
Anyway, then I looked up the Holiday Inn he told me about, since that's where the band and all the other agents will be staying and Kiwamu apparently wants me to stay there too >>. Turns out it really is $110 a night - for a suite. Regular single and double rooms are considerably lower. For example, a single room, with either one double bed OR two single beds, is more like $68 a night. Which isn't much different at all from the "per person per night" price we'd be paying for the hostel. O.o
Soooo I guess that's worth considering... need to consult with kitty soon and get reservations made somewhere, since I'm sure both these places will soon be booked to the brim with con-goers. They're both fairly small too - maybe one or two hundred beds in the hostel, and only 5 floors in the Holiday Inn.
*twitches* WE'RE GOING TO MEXICO. :O
I suppose I should inform my parents of this. >> <<
Anywaaaaay, in other news... I did much room cleaning yesterday. There's actually a visible difference from the photos now. o.o And still a looooong way to go, of course... but weeee. I can get rid of the one white end table now. :D
Also, I'm going to my kitty's tonight. *wiggle* Be back... meh, early next week sometime. >>
[edit: oh, and the option to preview posts is back. :D]
