feeling: tired but not sleepy listening to: nothing
IT IS DONE.
Well... sort of. I have finished translating the entire D no Arashi series, 116 episodes (117 including the un-numbered special after 39). Except for those three blasted episodes that contain, like, ONE WORD that I'm unable to make sense of due to either background noise or muttering. But I'll figure out what to do with those one way or another.
So now, technically, I can start hardsubbing anytime. However, there are a few things I want/need to do first...
~Finish those three bloody episodes with ONE WORD that won't make sense. Will probably require posting on a help forum. -_- ~Come up with a Taiji Project logo (got one in mind already, just a matter of details and making it). ~Figure out how to embed said logo in my videos. VirtualDub? ~Pick a font. ~Come up with the necessary disclaimers and whatnot to include in each video subbed.
So yeah. Wonder how long all of that will take me? -.- On the other hand, since I know I've been busting my butt on these for months, and also know that their security is compromised (see previous post), maybe that'll be enough motivation to keep me moving along... *pokes self with electric cattle prod*
I also can't help wondering where I'm gonna get my Japanese practice now. >> I still watch a lot of the variety shows and stuff, yes... but it's not really the same. Translating DnA forced me to hone my listening comprehension, increase my vocabulary, learn how to look up things I don't yet understand, etc. Maybe I can start translating Mayonaka no Arashi as a sort of light side project when the fansubbing process gets too tedious or whatever. I say "light" because it was their very first variety series, which means it's pretty old and nobody really pays as much attention to it these days. It'd be cool if I could change that. I think it's much more interesting than all these drooling fangirls give it credit for. Plus it's only 38 episodes, which is no big deal compared to the 116 I just did.
In the meantime... that Clubbox I found the other day has rekindled my interest in Tensai! Shimura Doubutsuen, which is a family-oriented, animal-themed weekly variety show that has sort of earned legendary status in Japan over the years. It's just so darned fun. And yes, I'd adore it even if Aiba Masaki weren't a regular member. ¬_¬ Seriously, he doesn't do much on it anyway compared to everyone else. The whole show is just a blast. And the one girl in it who's renowned as the most devoted animal lover of the group is named Becky and she's adorable. <3
Anyway... ok... now I think maybe I'm finally tired enough to go to bed. Maybe. Hopefully. Pleeeeeeease. The last few nights sucked.
[edit: never mind... 6:30 am and sleep isn't happening... but at least I've managed to use this time to play with VirtualDub a bit and figure some things out *struts*]
